Rome was called the “Eternal City” by the ancient Romans because they believed that no matter what happened in the rest of the world, the city of Rome would always remain standing.

Explore the city centre by foot surrounded by glorious monuments and colossal ruins, get lost in the incredible details of the frescoes made by the genius of Michelangelo and sit back in one of the many piazzas enjoying a refreshing gelato.

  1. Day 1 The Beauty of Rome

Pick up at Hilton Garden Hotel (Rome Airport) and transfer to the hotel in Rome city centre.

Check in to the hotel and meet the local guide waiting to escort you for a walk through the city centre to get to know Rome’s monuments, piazzas and fountains.

You will see the magnificent Colosseum, the ancient Roman amphitheatre, and have a tour inside its glorious spaces; walk through the most spectacular street in the world, Via Dei Fori Imperiali, where ancient ruins from the Roman Imperial age are still standing and visible to the public; throw a coin for good luck into Fontana di Trevi, the most beautiful fountain in Rome and background to countless movies;  get lost into the magnificence of the Pantheon, the best preserved building from ancient Rome dated back to 126 AD, open to visit.

Relax at a local bar in one of the many beautiful piazzas to enjoy a refreshing aperitivo.

Dinner is served in a cosy restaurant next to the hotel.

  2. Day 2 Vatican City

After breakfast we head to visit Vatican City and discover the secrets of its museums.

Vatican City is the smallest country in the world and the one with the highest density of Art. Independent from Italy since 1929, it is home to the Pope and capital of the Catholic Church. A breathtaking number of artworks are inside its Museums, from antiquity to the present day, including sculptures, paintings, tapestries and frescoes. Guided tour through some of the hundreds of rooms, galleries and halls inside the Vatican Museums. The museums date back to 1506 when Pope Julius II put an ancient sculpture, Laocoön and His Sons, on display at the Vatican. The unrivalled highlight is Michelangelo’s intricately-frescoed Sistine Chapel, a landmark of Renaissance art that illustrates the doctrine of the Catholic Church and depicts the creation of man, among other stories in the Old and New Testaments.

After the guided tour, lunch is served in a traditional Osteria near the Vatican.

In the afternoon enjoy free time for shopping or other cultural visits like the beautiful Villa Borghese and its park, Musei Capitolini or Campo de’ Fiori. A trip to Trastevere, Rome’s most charming neighbourhoods is not to be misses. Apparently Julius Caesar used to live there!

Dinner is served in one of Romes most traditional and iconic restaurants.

On request it is possible to organise an exclusive night visit with a private guide of the Colosseum, venturing into the underground level and the arena floor – areas usually closed to the public.

  3. Day 3 Departure

After breakfast, your private transfer will come to the hotel to take you to Rome Airport or to join another tour.
